TNSPI Regional Students Seminar

October 21

The first TNSPI Seminar will be at Texas A&M  on October 21, 2017.

The topic is “What is Marriage?”  The morning lecture will be “What Marriage Is” by Christopher Wolfe (University of Dallas) and the afternoon lecture will be “The Transformation of Men, Marriage, and Monogamy,” by Mark Regnerus (UT-Austin).

The readings, which the students will read beforehand and then discuss, will include (for the morning session) some short classic texts from Homer, Locke, J.S. Mill, Tocqueville, and a more contemporary article by W. Bradford Wilcox and Jeffrey Dew.  The reading for the afternoon discussion session will be excerpts from John Corvino and Maggie Gallagher’s book Debating Same-Sex Marriage.
